Old Ebbitt Grill’s Oyster Riot XVI Nov. 19-20th

September 3, 2010

Back for the sixteenth consecutive year, the Oyster Riot is one of the greatest parties of the year in Washington.  Always held the Friday and Saturday before Thanksgiving, the Oyster Riot is D.C.’s preeminent food and wine event.

Each night, nearly one-thousand people devour tens of thousands of oysters while enjoying the gold medal winners of the International Wines for Oysters Competition and grooving to our blues band, Mudcat.  In short, this ain’t no cocktail party.  It’s a Riot.

Due to the overwhelming demand for tickets and from the feedback we have received over the years, we are pleased to announce the debut of the Saturday Matinee Oyster Riot.  The matinee will take place from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2010.

Tickets will be $100 and a portion for the proceeds will go to benefit the Oyster Recovery Partnership, Chesapeake Appreciation Inc. Since it is a matinee performance, we will turn the volume down with a jazz trio so those who want to slurp and taste without the usual cacophony of the Riot can do so.

We will only be selling a limited amount of tickets to the matinee as the attendance will be about half of that of the evening Riots.  Other than that, it’s the same old Riot.  Great oysters, great wine, great time!

Tickets go on sale September 7, 2010 at 7:30 a.m. As there are no phone sales this year, please purchase tickets online or at the Old Ebbitt Grill.

Friday, November 19, 2010 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. $135
Saturday, November 20, 2010 12 to 3 p.m. $100
Saturday, November 20, 2010 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. $135
