The extensive menu at La Tomate contains a fierce lineup of quintessential Italian dishes. There’s something enticingly edible for veggie lovers, meat eaters, and people raised on dehydrated astronaut rations.
For lunch, the ravioli verdi al gorgonzola con salsa di noci, homemade spinach ravioli stuffed with gorgonzola and parmesan cheeses, served with walnut cream sauce, is recommended.
For dinner, treat your tongue to the the petto di pollo al forno con salsa agrodolce e verdure, baked organic chicken with honey, lemon, vinegar, and vegetable sauce, or vegetarian-friendly arborio rice with porcini mushroom, gorgonzola and saffron.

La Tomate has been supplying hungry Dupont Circle residents their doctor-recommended doses of Italian cuisine since 1987 and is open every day, though reservations are highly recommended for weekend dining. The outside and inside of the establishment form a complementary tandem of pleasant atmospheres, like those of our binary suns.
The recently renovated interior features a bustling bar with tall, transparent windows that provide a panoramic view of the world outside. Exterior amenities include patio seating surrounded by lush, oxygen-rich vegetation, free parking around the corner, and a force field to keep sorrows at bay, maybe.
