Mmm…doesn’t the smell of charcoal and applewood smoke just make you want to hug a greased pig? When the heat leaves you so parched, so lifeless, leave the grilling to the pros.  Here’s a rotating calendar of outdoor barbecues–good all summer long.  The only movement you’ll have to make is wiping the soot mixed with tears of joy from your eyes:

Join Eventide’s Rooftop Barbecue with Chef Adam Barnett on the rooftop Sundays at 4 pm as he grills up barbecue chicken, grilled bratwurst, Angus burgers with bourbon samples. $30 for adults for food and bourbon; free for children under 10.  3165 Wilson Boulevard Arlington, VA.  703.276.3165

Because Friday is too far away, join Chef Rob Weland on the second Tuesday of the month when he wood-grilld a full goat, lamb, pig or King salmon at Cork’s Whole Animal Grill-Out, served with sides.  $50-$75 per person, $25 for optional wine pairing. 1805 14th Street NW, Washington, DC.  202.265.2675

Get your choice of burger ($7, local beef, chicken, black-eyed pea or turkey) with free toppings and chips at Helix Lounge’s Backyard Bash every Wednesday from 5-7 pm, grilled on their new wood-fire grill. DC Brau Lager is a steal for only $3.  1430 Rhode Island Avenue NW, Washington, DC.  800.706.1202

Also on Wednesdays, Jackson 20’s Patio Pig Parties happen every second Wednesday of the month. Chef Brian McPherson prepares a whole roasted Pipe Dreams Farm pig, with family-style ribs, collard greens, cole slaw, macaroni salad, potato salad, and seasonal pies.  $40 per person.  May 9, June 13, July 11, August 15, September 12, and October 10 at 6 pm.  480 King Street, Alexandria, VA.  703.842.2790

The third Thursday of the month from 4-8 pm, head to the little house that pork built.  3′s Summer Patio Pig Roasts serve a whole Tamworth or Berkshire pig with hand-cut fries and slaw on its expansive, lively outdoor terrace, along with $5 pulled pork sandwiches, Bacon Bloody Marys, featured wines and $3 beer drafts and Porkslap.  2950 Clarendon Blvd, Arlington, VA.  703.524.4440

Also on Wednesdays, Art and Soul will be serving up Beer specials and a Crab Boil.  The crabs will be 3 for $12, 6 for $40 or 12 for $72.  This mid-Atlantic favorite will be served up with corn on the cob and potato and sausage on the side, $3 each.  Flying Dog seasonal brews will be available at $4 a glass or $16 for a pitcher.  Art and Soul patio (The Liaison Capitol Hill, an Affinia Hotel), 415 New Jersey Avenue, NW, Washington, DC.  202.393.7777
