When Roca on the Rails rolled into Union Station, the coveted affair occurred under secrecy. The caboose sat on an unlabeled track, sandwiched between other train carriages. In awe, I thought my excitement was merely my own; however when Chris, our guide for the evening started spilling out his enthusiasm, I knew a dream had come true. Rail aficionados unite.

Roca Patron

Roca is the newest line of tequila from the Patrón Tequila brand. Using the finest weber blue agave which is harvested eight years after planting, the agave juice is then extracted from the pressure of a two ton volcanic rock. Afterward, handmade copper stills assist in the distilling process until you have the artisanal crafted liquid known as Roca.

Dining Table

Dinner Table Up Close

That night we started with a tasting of all three: silver, reposado, and añejo. Each determined by their aging process which ranges from two to fourteen months respectively. After touring the train, we sat down to a spectacular meal and cocktails created by none other than acclaimed mixologists Glendon Hartley and Chris Spangler. It certainly was a night to remember.
