It’s not all about baby Jesus, you know. This week, we’re celebrating budding JDates, Belgian waffles, and the life of a man who always kept his middle finger happily unsheathed. For Christ’s sake, will you check it out?!

Now: This is the last week to try special clementine tapas and cocktails at Jaleo, incorporating this prized “Christmas Orange”. A cross between a sweet orange and a Chinese mandarin, the clementine is very popular in Europe and is gaining popularity here. Now through December 22nd.

Tomorrow: From the folks at Table, Menu MBK (formerly Azur) will be hosting a preview of its market space from 3-7 pm. The ground floor component of the 3-tiered restaurant/market for a Holiday Market with seasonal treats and local vendors. Feast on complementary hot chocolate and Chapel Hill Farm veal meatballs, treats from Cured, Bounty Hill Farms and Junius Coffee and the forthcoming kitchen at Menu, including apple cider, soup, holiday cookies, macaroons, sticky buns, candied apples and Belgian waffles.

RedRocks in Arlington will be hosting The Beer-tender Series with independent brewers and their innovative concoctions from [5:30]-8:30 pm with Tommy Hunter, regional manager of Flying Dog Brewing of Frederick, MD, who will be pouring a couple of their Brewhouse Rarities–Orchard Ale and Cinnamon Porter. The event will coincide with RedRocks’s Ugly Christmas Sweater Party–wear your ugliest sweater for a chance to win Flying Dog swag and other prizes!

Saturday: It’s Joe Strummer Day! Mockingbird Hill, The Passenger and The Pug are celebrating the life of Joe Strummer of the Clash, a legendary punk musician who lived in Spain after the Clash broke up and authored many great songs including Spanish Bombs, which Mockingbird Hill is named after. Joe Strummer died on December 22, 2002. Enjoy drink specials and songs by The Clash, naturally.

Sunday: The Roof Terrace at the Kennedy Center is hosting its 17th annual Holiday Brunch with Santa. Enjoy live jazz, breathtaking views, visits with Old St. Nick plus a holiday brunch buffet. The kids table will feature favorites such as macaroni and cheese, chicken fingers and fries while you get a complimentary mimosa or sparkling wine. Seatings begin at 10 am. $45 adults; $20 children ages 4-11. Reservations required.
