Washington just about shuts down during Christmas.  But what if you’re visiting from out of town and can’t cook? Or a pair of empty nesters who don’t want to? Or just the opposite—faced with the thought of cooking for the entire family plus in-laws?

Here is an alphabetical list of restaurants open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for lunch, brunch and dinner, which are offering special menus to ensure you have a stress-free holiday. Bibiana is hosting a Feast of the Seven Fishes, Poste is having a pig roast, J&G Steakhouse has a great holiday deal, and The Source is holding a Chinese banquet!

Againn – Traditional British Isle fare available from 5:30 pm to close on Christmas Eve. Bar Pilar – a neighborhood restaurant and bar with a fresh approach to dining and cocktails, will be open at 9 pm on Christmas Eve for bar service only. Bourbon Steak – Three-course prix fixe menu on Christmas Eve as well as Christmas Day lunch and dinner.  Standouts include brown butter-basted Maine lobster; roasted Hudson Valley foie gras; and glazed suckling pig ham.
