Cocktails vs. Wine Battle
Firefly’s Executive Chef Daniel Bortnick will prepare a five-course Cocktails vs. Wine Battle dinner on Sunday, September 9 from 6:30-10:30 pm featuring cocktail pairings by “mixtress” Gina Chersevani, and wine pairings by BRABO sommelier, Matthew Carroll.
Proceeds from the Cocktails vs. Wine Battle will benefit the Susan G Komen 3-Day Walk for the Cure. The evening will also feature a silent auction to benefit Susan G. Komen, with items ranging from overnight stays at Kimpton hotels across the country, to gift certificates from some of DC’s top restaurants.
This year Cocktails vs. Wine Battle will feature Kimpton sommelier Matthew Carroll, of BRABO by Robert Wiedmaier, who will select his perfect varietal for each course, while Kimpton alum and renowned mixologist Gina Chersevani, whose forthcoming soda shop and bar, Buffalo and Bergen, is due to open this fall, will present her original cocktail creations.
Enjoy a reception of passed canapés and libations, followed by five dually-paired courses. A lively discussion of each pairing will be detailed by both competitors. After each course, elect your favorite and votes will be tallied, deeming either wine or cocktails as the victor.
Dinner is $100 per person. Price includes cocktail and wine pairings, tax and gratuity.
