During our vapid high-school years, going on a date meant dining on cheap, greasy food and making out in the darkness of a movie theater. You can’t deny how fun that still sounds, so head over to Foggy Bottom for a DC version of this classic American date.

- Burger Tap & Shake grinds beef chuck and brisket in-house everyday to serve juicy burgers at a great price.Create your own house burger ($6) with fancy toppings ($1 each), or try one of the signature creations ($8) – the Southern Comfort has a fried green tomato on it…need I say more?
Also, the alcohol-spiked milkshakes ($8) are not to be missed and could be shared for a touch of romance.
- Walk a few blocks North to West End Cinema (tickets $11) to ponder the intricacies of an indie film. While the candy is plentiful, it competes with a fully-stocked bar; make sure you treat your date to both or else things might end up like this.
For a wonderfully unpretentious dinner for two, head to Cork Wine Bar for shared plates and paired wines. Simple yet refined, the atmosphere at Cork is
